The Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh welcomed 53 children from BRESMA orphanage January 19, 2010 after American sisters and caregivers, Ali and Jamie McMutrie refused to be rescued from Haiti without every last child. After a long trip to the American Embassy all the children but seven, were in the process of adoption and were allowed to board the plane to Pennsylvania. The sisters protested with rescuers including Pennsylvania congressmen, until all the children – including the seven without adoption prospects – were on the plane.
